Where to Buy Shibuya Sky Tickets

There are four routes to a Shibuya Sky ticket and they differ in price, language and how much of the booking problem they solve for you. The cheapest is the official site at 2,700 yen, and it is Japanese-only — the English URLs people share return a page that says 404 despite a 200 response. The most expensive routes are guided tours at several times the price, which exist mainly because they hold their own slot allocation. Below, each in the order we would try them.

   Cheapest, and the only route with no markup at all.

   Adult admission is 2,700 yen (about $17) before 15:00 and 3,400 yen (about $22) from 15:00. The flow runs on Webket, a Japanese ticketing platform, and there is no English version — /sky/en/ and /sky/ticket/en/ both return the site's not-found page with a 200 status. A browser translation will get you through it. Use this if you can handle a Japanese checkout and you are ready at the fourteen-day release.

   The counter on level 14, on the day

   No Japanese needed, no advance booking, 300 yen more.

   Same-day tickets are 3,000 yen before 15:00 and 3,700 yen after, subject to availability. This is also the only way to buy children's tickets, which the operator does not sell online at all. It is a better fallback than most visitors assume — a sold-out online slot does not mean a sold-out building — but on a fine evening there may be nothing left.

   An English-language resale platform

   English checkout and confirmation, small premium.

   The resale platforms sell the same admission in English, with English confirmations and familiar payment methods, usually at a modest premium over the official price. They work from the same fourteen-day release rather than getting early access, so they solve the language problem and not the timing one. For most non-Japanese-speaking visitors this is the sensible default.

   Operators hold their own allocation, so a tour can be booked months ahead for a date when public tickets do not exist yet. The cheapest we found whose inclusions name the Shibuya Sky ticket outright is a two-hour guided walk at $86, against $17 for the ticket alone. You are paying about $69 for guiding and for someone else to have secured the slot. Check the inclusions rather than the title: several tours named after Shibuya Sky include only a guide.
